Alice Springs is the capital of Australia's red centre, the heart, the soul, the centre of Australia.

The spectacular gorges and chasms provide the perfect scenario for a whole range of adventure and activities. The Eastern MacDonnell (East Macs) Ranges contain interesting Aboriginal paintings and are important spiritual sites to the Eastern Arrernte Aboriginal people. The Larapinta Trail is without doubt one of Australia's most spectacular and exciting long distance overnight treks. Further afield is Kings Canyon, spectacular at sunrise and sunset, in the Watarrka National Park. The world famous Uluru – Kata Tjuta, the worlds greatest monolith, is about 460km from Alice Springs. Darwin is the Northern Territory's capital and is approximately 1500km from the Red Centre.
